Hi,
My name is Sue
Richardson and 50 Best Websites for Homeschooling
Highschool is the result of hours & hours of online searching looking
for resources to use with my two teen grandchildren whom are
homeschooled.
Thankfully, as I found resources, I kept track of them.
As more & more friends saw what we were doing, they would comment, "Where
in the world do you find this stuff!?!" It occurred to me that a collection of these
wonderful and FREE online resources for highschoolers would be a valuable resource for other
homeschooling families.
So, finally, after many hours of
work organizing, and
compiling links that I had stuck all over the place on my computer,
50 Best Websites
for Homeschooling Highschool
was born! :)

Sue, I think this is a great idea. A directory
like this is very helpful. I would tell others
about it because the resources that you have
listed are very good. I am sure that we will use
many of them.

More of
what people are saying:
My
interests are Jesus, filmmaking, movies, books,
and music. I really liked the Annenberg media
learner cinema site, one of the sites found in
the 50 Best Websites Directory. It was very
informative and had some fun activities. I also
really enjoyed the television production website
and the video lesson plans site. The television
production site was about making
television shows, but much of what they said
could be applied to film. The lesson plans site
was very creative and easy to understand - even
for someone who really isn’t into movie making.
Mallory, age 14.
I really like the site with the business games
because they are a blast! Plus I don’t get in
trouble playing it because it’s educational!
Another site that deals with practical money
skills is very useful and one of their games,
Financial Football, makes it fun to learn. One
of the sites, dealing with physics was a truly
helpful site and really made me think.

Hi, this is
Jodi – Nicholas and Mallory’s mother. We are in
our 12th year of homeschooling and have tried
many various approaches to learning. If a person
is willing to give up the “security” of
textbooks, then 50 Best Websites is a great way
to go. Sue has compiled an amazing list of
educational tools for high school students (or
anyone else interested in learning). While I
haven’t begun yet to solely use this as our
curriculum, I really believe a person could.
Our
family is going to explore the possibilities
contained here. I really like the practical
aspects of most of her sites. The
financial/entrepreneurial sites are very welcome
as we try to educate our kids in “real life”.
Sue’s asking price for all of this info is less
than the price of 1 textbook. I don’t see how
you could err with that. As the kids say, “This
is a DUH!”
